LABOR CALLS FOR THE RELEASE OF THE FULL COFFS HARBOUR BYPASS PREFERRED CONCEPT DESIGN REPORT
The federal and state governments must immediately release the full Preferred Concept Design Report into the Coffs Harbour Bypass.
To date, the governments have only released a “Summary Report”.
Where is the full report? Why hasn’t this been released? Why are they hiding it? What don’t they want to share with us before the formal public consultation period closes on 30 November 2018?
All key RTA/RMS documents dating back to 2004 have been released in full (LINK).
The 2008 Preferred Concept Design Report was 118 pages.
Ten years on, we get a 24-page summary report which is high on PR spin and low on facts.
The National Party says trust us. Labor and the community says no way. They simply can’t be trusted.
We need to see the full report. We need to know the truth.
The federal and state governments have to stop the truth bypass.
The Coffs Harbour Bypass project is turning into a bungle rivalling the Sydney light rail project.
While supportive of the bypassing of Coffs Harbour, Labor also repeats its call for:
- The government to immediately release all critical reports on the impacts of the trenches design on residents through noise; on Aboriginal heritage; on the natural environment and the local economy and jobs.
- The official public consultation period to close no earlier than one month after the release of the last of the critical reports.
- The governments to delay the issuing of the Environmental Impact Statement pending the release of a Revised Preferred Concept Design, taking into account the results of the yet to be completed studies and community feedback.
